Details on gate numbers, as seen in a story about the National Museum of Korea. But since these figures are for art, it misses out the many well frequented science and/or technology centers and museums.
Still it gives a set of values on a world scale.

Number of Visitors
According to The Art Newspaper, the world`s most visited museums in 2009 were the Louvre in Paris (8.5 million), the British Museum in London (5.57 million), the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (4.89 million), and the National Gallery (4.78 million) and the Tate Modern (4.75 million) in London. Three of the top 10 museums are French (Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Musée d`Orsay), and another three of them are British (British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern). In Asia, the National Palace Museum in Taipei (2.57 million) was No. 12 in the list, while the Tokyo National Museum (2.27 million) was No. 14. Choe Kwang-shik, director of the National Museum of Korea, said, "In terms of the depth of the collection, we can`t say we`re better than Taipei`s National Palace Museum or the Tokyo National Museum, but we have many more guests. That we`ve been listed as No. 10 in a ranking based on the number of visitors indicates that Koreans have a high level of cultural interest."
