Loïc Tallon and Kevin Walker's (2008) book "Digital Technologies and the Museum Experience: Handheld Guides and Other Media" (AltaMira Press) has a few articles on participant use of technology to explore museums - Walker's article in particular describes how children visiting the museum were given PDAs to tag exhibits and record their interactions with them.
Bennetta Jules-Rosette has also done a lot of work on participant-made media - her article "The Marrapodi Films: Informant and Documentary Uses of the Camera" (1975) also deals with the use of informant-made films as an ethnographic resource.
